Archer Engineering is experiencing a growth in their workload and needs to strengthen their teams in Bergen and Sandnes. Gdansk is also an option. All contracts are offered for a minimum of 12 months, and include favourable terms.
Electrical & Instrument Engineers
Key responsibilities
- To ensure that the applicable legislation and standards are applied across all aspects of E/I/T delivery to the Project. These include: NORSOK, Company procedures, checklists and processes, Client codes and standards, HS&E Regulations, IEC Directives and Atex.
- To identify and implement safe, cost effective, fit for purpose, field proven designs.
- To maximise opportunities within design, to improve rig operability and maintainability.
- To provide engineering solutions that demonstrate added value to both Archer operations and client.
- To provide technical interface with all other discipline engineers and Subcontractor and Specialist Engineering Vendors.
- To identify deviations to standards where necessary, ensuring acceptance of Client Technical Authorities.
- Develop solution proposals and estimate.
- To meet the requirements of the agreed schedule identified within the project plan for the Electrical / Instrumentation deliverables as assigned by the PM / PE / Discipline Lead EIT Engineer.
- To ensure that the cross discipline Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance and Operational requirements are accounted for within the design.
- Responsible for checking and/ or approval of discipline design deliverables, calculations, specifications, drawings, packages and technical procedures.
- Preparation, verification and check of engineering documentation and Vendor documentation.
- Preparation of work descriptions and work package documentation required for offshore installation, mechanical completion and commissioning activities.
- To conduct offshore surveys and prepare offshore survey reports, as required.
- To respect colleagues, clients and subcontractors at all levels, dealing with any dispute or conflict in a professional and personable manner.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or Technical College with relevant experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant field
- Valid health and offshore certificate
- Relevant EX course and IEC 61892
- Experience with working towards customers like Equinor and ConocoPhillips is an advantage

- Fluent English written and oral skills.
- Norwegian language is an advantage.
- Polish language skills are required in order to work for the office in Gdansk.
