The Operation & Sales Engineer will report directly to the Operation & Sales Supervisor Archer Oiltools Norway
Role
As a Operation & Sales Engineer, you'll combine technical knowledge with sales skills. Your clients will be procurement, technical and operational staff predominantly from Oil & Gas operator companies. The role is responsible for the delivery process from promotion or request to payment of invoice.
Key responsibilities
- Establish customer contacts through regular visits.
- Attend customer meetings as required
- In-depth understanding of product technical solutions
- Generate technical and commercial proposals
- Managing and interpreting customer requirements
- Continuous work with customer, trying to find smarter solutions, being able to see new sales opportunities and how to combine our products in new, better and cost saving solutions for the customers
- Participate in tender process and calculating client quotations
- Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
- Manage delivery process
- Analysing costs of sales and determine gross margins
- Recording and maintaining client contact data and sales activities in relevant system and provide regular revenue forecasts
- Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
- Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
- Liaising with other members of the Operations & Sales team and other technical experts
- Conduct sales presentations and “Lunch & Learns” for existing and/or new customers
Qualifications
Education:
- Certificate of apprenticeship, engineering degree or higher education within Oil & Gas applications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of technical sales and delivery experience
- Successful key account experience
- Strong technical and operational background from well construction, well integrity, intervention, remediation, and barrier plug technology
- Being able to use technical skills and experience to explain the benefits of our products or services to potential customers
- Proven sales result
Personal skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong networking skills
- Fluent in Norwegian and English (spoken and written)
