- Deliver, maintain and manage robust cost management frameworks, procedures and tools.
- To review and analyse cost data, and advise the Project Director and Project Manager(s) of any potential deviations and risks to the baseline budget..
- Create and maintain a database of project cost estimates and update as required by the stage of the project, including norms for estimating purposes and future benchmarking.
- Production and issue of a variety of weekly and monthly cost reports such as cost-curves, and Project Dashboards, and prepare for and contribute to project reviews.
- Compile project budgets, support company and business units budgeting requirements and prepare project financial approvals (CTR’s) as and when required.
- Track, monitor and accurately report project commitments, value of work done (VOWD) and forecast costs.
- Provide accurate monthly reporting and input into overall project and wider business reporting cycles.
- Support project change control, reviewing scope changes, assessing impacts of project costs and managing contingency and allowance provisions.
- Ensure all project requisitions and invoiced costs are valid and coded correctly.
- Provide monthly project accruals.
- Support the project risk review / probabilistic analysis as necessary.
Candidates should be educated to Degree Level with minimum 10 years’ experience in cost engineering role supporting major EPC projects (essential) similar role and minimum 5 years Oil & Gas background. In addition we will be looking for:
- Extensive working knowledge of project cost management – cost estimating principles, WBS structures, budgets, allocations, commitments, VOWD, forecasts and estimated final costs
- Understanding of client requirements and expectations
- Track record of continuous professional development
- Ability to work pro-actively under own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Willingness to learn, share knowledge and learning’s with others.
- Working knowledge of IFS.
- Extensive use of MS Office packages (specifically excel) is essential.
- Prioritisation of workload in line with project demands
- Good communicator
- Good Organisational skills with attention to detail
